It’s one thing for adults to address issues that affect the health of young people, it’s quite another to have those teens involved.

The Healthy Jacksonville Childhood Obesity Prevention Coalition Youth Advisory Council (HJYAC) is made up of teens and adolescents who provide feedback and input on issues of nutrition, physical activity and overall health; their collective voice is heard on topics that have a direct effect in ensuring their healthier futures, and a healthier future for all young people throughout Duval County.

If you’re a teen interested in advising the HJCOPC and promoting an active and healthy lifestyle, or if you’re an adult interested in mentoring young people and helping them have their voices heard, please e-mail the Coalition at
